Christian Januari Lamatokan—known as Chris Kiahoda, CJKiahoda, Ian, Kia, or Tian—was born one morning in January, in Ende, Flores. Grew up in a multicultural household: a Flores legendary Folk musician father, a steadfast mother.
“My father was a sailorman and a guitarist. I was raised in chords and multi-diciplinary world.”
My family moved to Kampung Pulo, Jakarta. Among fellow migrants from Flores, Batak, and Java, Chris discovered brotherhood and the grind.

A digital portfolio sent across the net landed me in Bali. Now I lives as an artist breathing new life into my roots—blending Flores, Jakarta, and Bali into story and color.
My journey wasn’t straight. It spiraled—beautifully. From Ende to Labuan Bajo, every step became a sentence. Every brushstroke, a memory.

Hello world! My full name is Christian Januari Lamatokan / Chris Kiahoda (Instagram: @cjkiahoda) a visual artist and illustrator based in Bali whose work blends traditional elements with contemporary expression.
Born and raised on the Flores island NTT, I’ve been active in the art world for over a decade, exploring various mediums including murals, canvas paintings, graphic design, and digital illustration.
As the founder of KelimutuArt, I always channels my spirituality, cultural aspect, and current feelings into my work. I creates murals for cafés, villas, and public spaces, and sells my original artworks internationally through platforms like Saatchi Art and BigCartel.
